A story rooted in the history of Lindos

The Boathouse

Long before Pallas Beach became a place for sunbeds and swimming, this part of Lindos was simply known as the Skala — the village's small harbour and gateway to the sea.

Why guests come back

A soft-sand beach, cold drinks at your bed, and a building older than most of Lindos.

01 · The beach

Soft golden sand, sheltered water

Pallas Beach is one of the softest sandy beaches in Rhodes — sheltered water, easy to walk into, and a short stroll from the village.

02 · The service

Served to your sunbed

Rent one of our white sunbeds in front of the building and we bring breakfast, coffee, cold drinks and cocktails straight to you.

03 · The symbols

Carvings made to watch over everyone who steps inside

A bird above the door, a small cross above the window and older carved stones set into the walls — meant to look after everyone who came through this doorway, and to tell anyone arriving from the sea that they had reached a place where they would be safe. Something of that welcome still lingers over the tables today.

A story rooted in Lindos

A summer place on the old Skala of Lindos.

Pallas Beach has always been a beach — but for centuries it was also the Skala, the small landing where the boats of Lindos came ashore. According to local tradition, this stone building was the first structure ever raised on the sand: a summer place at the water's edge, most likely used by fishermen and merchants arriving by boat.

Today the boats are gone, and the same building has become a place where people gather by the sea again.

Symbols in the stone

Carvings made to watch over every visitor.

Set into the façade are symbols that have looked out over this corner of Lindos for centuries — carved not for the walls themselves, but for the people who step through the door. A quiet, wordless kind of protection meant for every visitor.

  • 01For the people inside — a quiet feeling of safety for everyone gathered here.
  • 02For those arriving from the sea — a signal that this was a safe place to come ashore.
  • 03For everyone crossing the threshold — a safe arrival and a safe return.

The bird, the cross and the reused relief stones were placed here with intent. In local tradition, carvings like these were meant to look after the people who lived, worked and passed through the building — to offer sailors, traders and strangers a familiar sign of safety and faith. In a harbour full of new arrivals, these symbols carried a quiet message to every visitor: this is a place of shelter, trust and continuity. Centuries later, that is exactly the feeling we want to carry forward with Lindos Boathouse.

Step through the arch and the stones do quietly what they were carved to do — watch over everyone inside, and send them on their way with a piece of Lindos to carry home.
